A thought provoking portrait of an exceptional man at his absolute best.

Instead of focusing on his more celebrated, ‘listen to me talk, I’m going to be on Parkie’ later years, King Of The World looks instead at the early life of Cassius Clay.
From his childhood in Louisville, through his amateur and Olympic career - right up to his celebrated battle with “That big ‘ol bear”, Sonny Liston, Remnick breathes life into his version of Clay. The author paints a thought provoking portrait of an exceptional man at his absolute best, during the period when his considerable skills were at their peak, but before he became a loud-mouth, talk-show bothering bore.
