Up The Walls - In A Tent

The five main areas of concern for the local community were:

  • 1. The development of the local park
  • 2. The interface with the fountain
  • 3. The infrastructure including potholes, vandalism, the rundown looks of the area
  • 4. Facilities for the residents
  • 5. The development of the Railway museum

In this area people are very vocal about the general needs of the area and their frustrations lay mainly in the time between highlighting both issues and potential solutions and the physical changes needed to solve problems.

The tensions in the area were apparent in the area of single identity as well as the traditional concerns of an interface area with longstanding issues creating a base for conflict between groups in both the geographical interface and the single the area. The process was hugely engaging and created a sense of fun and participation and for many in the area a real sense that someone was listening to individual voices.
